The Committee on Judicial Policy recognized the draft resolution on support of the address of the Council of Judges of Ukraine re the order of election of judges as non-contradicting the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine

The bill (Reg. No. 2211a) aims at defining a clear-cut position of the Verkhovna Rada in the issue of adherence to the European standards while electing judges.

Following the results of discussion, the Committee decided that the draft resolution does not contradict provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine (particularly, clause 27 of part one of article 85, article 91 and article 128).
